When my mayo-hating brother and I were kids, I used to gross him out. I loved mixing mayo and ketchup together and using it as a dip for my french fries. As far as I was concerned it couldn’t be beat. When I grew up and discovered Fry Sauce at Freddy’s, let’s just say I was in heaven. This stuff is beyond delicious. We use it with french fries, tater tots, as a sauce for our burgers and as a dip for chicken tenders.
There are several versions of this sauce out there on the internet and I think I’ve tried them all. Yes, I have sacrificed myself for you, hey that’s just the kind of gal I am! Seriously, what I have come up with I think is the perfect ratio of these ingredients. A lot of the versions use equal parts mayo and ketchup. For me, that didn’t allow the flavor of the mayo to come through.
If you’re not familiar with Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers it is the hands down favorite of my kids. We seem to go there after every band concert or home swim meet. It is quite a treat. They sell their fry seasoning and I love the flavor it adds to a lot of different dishes. If you can’t get your hands on some, just use Lawry’s seasoned salt. On a side note, we have received no compensation from Freddy’s. These are all just my humble opinions.
- ½ cup mayo
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 teaspoon pickle juice
- 1 teaspoon Freddy's French Fry Seasoning or other seasoned salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl and mix well.
- Go ahead and double the recipe. Trust me!
Enjoy!

As someone who grew up eating Artic Circle’s fry sauce, I can attest to how addicting fry sauce can be. When I moved from Montana to Colorado I was astonished that no one served fry sauce, so I’ve been on the hunt for a yummy recipe ever since. I’m pinning to try.
Yum! I don’t think there are any places around here that serve fry sauce. Now I feel like I’ve been missing out!
